Random Tuesday Thoughts

I fell behind on my blog reading...  again.  Looks like I"ll be spending a lot of tonight and tomorrow (my day off) catching up.

As I was going to bed last night, I saw an electrical cord going from the outlet to the outside of my house.  I opened the door and see Dani and her friend, sitting on the front steps, wrapped in the electric blanket I bought her for Christmas.  They said it was cold out there.  sigh.

Christmas was nice.  It's not as fun as it used to be, when the kids were little.  No magic.  I guess it'll get more fun when grandkids arrive.  It'll be a while before that though, and that's OK.

I have absolutely no idea what I'm (we're?) doing for New Year's Eve.  I have to work NYE and NYD and I think John does too.

My son's bank won't let me deposit a check that's in my name into his account.  It's not like I'm trying to cash it!  I just don't get it.  I have to go to my bank, deposit the damn thing, then write him a check and deposit THAT one in his account.   More work for me.

There's nothing like an episode of Hoarders (seen on A & E channel) to make you get off your ass and start cleaning your house.  Those dishes in the sink because the dishwasher is full of clean dishes?  Done!  (the dishwasher is empty now too)

I've also discovered that you really can't eat a snack while watching Hoarders.  The houses are so incredibly disgusting that you can't possibly eat.

New diet regimen?  Watch an episode before each meal and whenever you have the urge to snack.  It should work like a charm!.

Pop on over to Keely's if you want to participate, add your link to Mr. Linky!  You can also read  lots of other random folks!

I've not seen Hoarders but hear about it a lot. I think it would be good for Jeff and I to watch it together.

Would they let you cash the check and then deposit the cash? That's so silly!!

I learned this year that Christmas is magic for me when I give great gifts. My family didn't "do gifts" this year and I missed shopping for my mom, my brothers, my dad, my aunt, my cousin. Yes, it saved me time, money, headaches... but Christmas felt a little less special for me this year...

I watched Hoarders for the first time last night, a whole series of them and all I can say is when they found the two dead cats and the ladies teeth I was reminded how lucky I am.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could hire somebody to clean up your house after Xmas? Get rid of the tree and put away all the decorations?

Electric blanket outside SLAP!

Does that girl not know how you struggle? Just what you need, a higher electric bill.

So what network is Hoarders on (oh wait, I can search for it) I have not seen that but used to love to watch the one on BBC with Kim and Aggie, the British women. Some of those home, both in America and UK were disgusting.

Today is the first day that I am really minding the cold, the winter is making it so bitter!

Not sure what we are doing for NYE either, watching 3 Stooges marathon I think. LOL!

Hope you have a wonderful 2010!

This is the third tonight where I read about Hoarders. Now, I need to see what this is all about and if my mom is the star of the show.

I watch CLEAN HOUSE, but I hate that loud mouth woman host. Then I started watching HOARDERS. What makes ME ill, beside what they consider to be normal living conditions, is the fact that they are just trying to get a cleaned out horizontal surface so they can load it up again. I think they should return two weeks later and do another walk through.

I agree, Dana. Check back, like they do on Intervention. I rented a dumpster several years ago and got rid of 1.5 tons of stuff... old furniture and junk that was in the attic and garage and basement. That last Hoarders I saw, they threw out 8 tons of garbage!!! GARBAGE!! and that woman didn't blink an eye.

Don't feel bad, I fall behind on my reading of the blogs all the time.

That is just too funny, outside with an electric blanket!!

I'm too afraid to watch "Hoarders", I just know the commercials gross me out and that is enough! Hoarders of trash is disgusting!

Happy New Year, even though your working.
