Then and Now

I really hate trying to take a decent picture of myself.  I made a decision today, to color my hair again.  I got tired of looking at that old lady in the mirror.  It's cool to get Senior Discount tickets at the Regal theater, but I missed looking late 40s instead of 60s.  So I called my favorite hairdresser and she squeezed me in this evening. (don't worry... I'm the best tipper she knows!)

I found a picture of myself taken a few weeks ago at the mini class reunion and I cropped a picture of myself from it.  Then I proceeded to take a picture (ok, i tried like 20... they all sucked) with my new do.  I also snuck in a better photo but it's 2 years old.

Now, be honest.  Did I take 10 years or so off my age with a little Redken magic??

this is from 3 weeks ago

this one is from 2 years ago

this awful awful one is from this evening.  a self-portrait if you will.

OK, where in the HELL did those jowls come from??

psst!  I have a friend who blogs here... her name is Vodka mom. It's also the name of her blog.  Her blog is one of the funniest I've ever read! Anyway, she was nominated for the Top 50 Mommy Bloggers.  It would be really cool if you could check her out, read some of her stuff and go over to Babble and vote for her!  And you can vote more than once!  As a matter of fact, you can vote once a day!  Last time I checked she was ranked #8!  Simply click here to go to the site.  And check out her blog!  You won't be sorry!!

You look great!

I quit dying my hair four years ago and have struggled ever since to not pull out the hair dye under the bathroom sink.

My Gran always told me that God gave women hair so they could color it.

Kat, I love your Gran!

Braja, hahahah! The picture from 2 years ago was me with bed head and needing a haircut!

I like the dye job BUT I think the pictures are unfair. They age, closeness, and expressions vary too much to render a solid opinion.

I think color does marvelous things for everyone. Why then am I living with all this gray??

I think the pics would all be improved with a big old SMILE! I think that's why the 2 years ago pic is so popular- it's that very genuine smile!

I love the new color... and I hope you love it, too!

Color is good! But natural was good too. I vacilate between going back to color and leaving it alone too. Some days the grey looks great, other days it just looks old!

Jowls are a horrible fact of life as we "mature". Who knew that a firm jawline was the most important feature to try to hang on to?? Gravity has a lot to answer for!!

I see Olive Garden in the background of the one picture. Where were you?

Garret said...

Ummmmmmmmmmm, at an Olive Garden.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Yeah, I realize it was probably an Uno.

I think that the darker hair definitely makes you look younger.

I wish more women would do what you did...I have three good friends who went on and on about how they would NEVER dye their gray hair because they earned it,etc....and they are single...wondering why they don't get dates....
you look SO much younger with the gray gone and I know they would too...you look fabulous, honey...LOVE your hair color!!

I really liked the hairstyle from 2 years ago, and the color you chose now looks good on you. :) Stopping by from SITS. Hope you've had a wonderful weekend!

Either way you're gorgey.

I like you with the silvery thing going on and I love you with the sexy auburn thing going on. The colored hair may give you a slight advantage in the age department, but I think the cut is everything.

Of course, you cut is as cute as can be.

Oh, I give up.

Either way you're gorgey!
