Last night, the Fox Channel did something no other network channel had the nerve to do. They chose not to air the press conference Obama was giving on his first 100 days. They basically scrolled across the bottom of the screen:
If you want to see the press conference, tune in to the Fox News Channel or the Fox Business News Channel.
Instead, Fox showed the TV series "Lie To Me". Now, it's a funny, weird coincidence (to me) that Lie To Me is on Wednesdays at 8 PM, but still, I think the network has one hell of a sense of humor! The show was good! I'd watch it again!
Ok, I'm ducking behind the Fox sign now so the bashers can't get me.

"Lie To Me" is a good show we watch each week. Then laugh because we use what we've learned on the show and point things out we see in others...oh watch out now no one can lie and get away with it..hehehe
I still like you Joanie. But I would never watch Fox unless I wanted to see what the enemy was thinking.
I'd like you to watch the documentary, "Rupert Murdoch's War on the Media."
And would you have found it funny if Fox had done the same to Pres G Bush 8 years ago?
Ditto HS Teacher.
It makes me wonder about people who don't have cable... I suppose Fox doesn't want that viewership?
But wait! Maybe it wasn't a coincidence at all, Joanie. Fox DOES ROCK!!
And Liz, we don't flinch over Bush being bashed... we got used to it.
You can come out of hiding Joanie. I'll stand with you.
You didn't even flick to the Obama piece every now and then?
Uhhhh too political... Bush sucks, I hope Obama does better. Fox rocks.

I have to admit.... when I saw that Fox sign, I was like, "NOoooooooOOOOO!!!!" Thank goodness it was just there to show that you were Apolitical and not right-wing. :) Not that I'd stop poking around here, even if it had meant that.
I've sworn off all new shows, so I will have to take your word for it that Lie to Me was good. :)
I don't watch "Lie to Me" but I do totally agree with Fox's decision not to air Obama's lie-a-thon. And you're right it took some courage not to air it. They've been catching a lot of flak for their decision.
I have cable so I wasn't going to be affected anyway. If I didn't have cable I would have just gone outside and stood in the rain rather than listen to Obama. Well that's not true we don't have rain down here in Pensacola haven't had it for weeks. I guess I could have just gone outside and stood in the dark and swatted mosquitoes. Yeah even that would have been better than listening to the windbag-in-chief.
Actually, Liz, my post would have said exactly the same, whether it was Bush or McCain or any of the other people who were or wanted to be president.
For the record, I have never watched any of the presidential press conferences, debates, state of the union addressses, or any other time the President (whoever he was at the time) was on TV, with the possible exception of Pres Bush on Sept 12, 2001.
Mo, I switched over for about 3 seconds to see if he had stopped talking. I didn't want that press conference to interfere with Lost!
I'm afraid I'm a big disappointment to John when it concerns politics. He's a diehard Libertarian and wishes I'd convert. Frankly, I don't care enough to debate anyone.
Lynne, have you moved to Florida?
There is no law that says network TV has to broadcast presidential addresses. And interrupting normal programming costs the stations millions of dollars in ad revenue. If anything, Obama should be encouraging U.S. companies to make money where they can (within the limits of the law, of course).
Needless to say we don't get Fox. Or Obama. Or .... television. Actually I don't get much of anything....
:))
xx
I Love that Lie to Me show and I am kind of embarassed that Rupert Murdoch is Australian. The only consolation is his mother is still alive and she gives him what for regularly. Has anyone noticed how grey Obama has got after his first 100 days of office. Yes I am that shallow and clearly look for the important issues in everything.....have a great weekend Joanie!
I watch Fox here. CNN international is rubbish.
It drives me crazy when Obama, or any politician, is on so many channels.
In the past, coverage (identical) was on 2,4,5,6,7,9,24,25,26, and who knows what other channels. Do we really need it on every channel? When was the last time a President announced something that surprised anyone? 1941?
The major networks should agree to rotate the coverage.
And BTW, Fox is no worse for news than any other station. Each of them has consistently been caught lying. And CNN is probably the worst of all. It may as well be DNN-- the Democratic News Network.
my hubby and i slapped a high five when fox did this. LOVE "lie to me." obama? bleh. not so much.
;)
