This is one of my all-time favorite versions of Somewhere Over The Rainbow.
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole was a Hawaiian man who had a real gift for music. He passed away in 1997 at the age of 38. This video and others like it are all over Youtube, 12 years after his death. A real testament to his talent. Enjoy.

Oh Joanie you made me tear up. The ending of that video is his ashes being scattered. I remember the day they did that, the freeway by my his goes up to that side of the island. It was unbelievable the tailgate headed that way.
Peace Bradda Iz.
Awww, love it. Such a gentle melodic voice. Go google Eva Cassidys version too. She died at 31 and it makes me cry listening to her, Always. Its a beautiful song, its true. do you think your daughter would let us hear her??
Pure delight. Thank you Joanie.
The first time I heard him was when Dr. Greene died on ER. His daughter put her headphones on him as he lay on the couch. Used some kleenex that night.
Beautiful voice for sure and so sad he is no longer here to share more. Wonderful tribute to him by this video. Gave me chills and tears. Thanks for sharing Joanie.
