OK, my daughter, Dani, is up to something. I just know it! You may remember the post I did about why I can't sell my house. I took pictures of her bedroom and bathroom and posted them on this blog. If not you can read it here. Last week, she cleaned her room! I swear! The only thing on her floor now is carpet, her bed, her dresser and her nightstand! She put the doors back up on one of her closets. She cleaned her carpet! The drawers are back in the dresser, her clothes are in the dresser and they're folded! Her other clothes are hung up, in hangers in her closet!
Today, I came home from work and the dishwasher was empty and refilled with the dishes form last night's dinner. The kitchen table was cleaned off, the counter free of stuff and wiped. the floor was mopped! The living room, dining room and family room had all her stuff gone from it!
I haven't been upstairs yet. It's possible that her bathroom is free of crap and maybe even clean. The bedroom at the top of the stairs was turned into her sewing room and for the past year, all the stuff she didn't want was tossed in there. I think she was starting to go through that too. I told her whatever was left in there was going to get thrown out when she left for college in August.
I am almost in complete shock! I'm not sure who took the slob who lived her for the past 18 years and replaced her with the kid who wants to be neat, but I sure hope they keep the slob and leave me with this one! I think I might like this one!

She is up to something! Enjoy the neatness until you find out what's really going on. Haha
Being a Roswell expert, I suspect ALIENS! Maybe a bodysnatcher type thing. Any pods around?

Sounds like she definitely wants something...but what?
Oh, she is buttering you up for SOMETHING.
You'll have to let us know what it is!
Mmm maybe Joanies, just maybe she realises her Mom needs her help then again maybe she is going to ask you for something....I am still thinking the first one. She is getting grown up and going to be moving soon so she needs to sort her stuff out sometime.
Well, since I am 19yrs old I believe I have a bit of expertise in the matter. Just like your daughter I did the same thing to my mother.. at times it was because I wanted the house to be neat, I wanted to go out and party, I wanted money, I had a secret to tell her, or lastly she will miss you. As a teenager I felt bad at times because my mom would do everything in the house and I would not lift up a finger so I cleaned because at the end of the day she was not expecting it and it feels good to give surprises. Especially if she does not clean and out of the blue she does. If I were you I would buy her a little gift or something to show that you appreciate the effort. Who know's maybe if she likes the feeling of seeing you happy she might just continue doing this once in a while. =] Hope it helps!
It must be a ploy, she'll be asking for money before you know it.
She is definitely trying to get something, my bet is something expensive.
Why don't you send her (the neat and tidy version) to my house and I'll see if I can get any info out of her.
run! run as fast as you can! this where the mom gets it from the stepford daughter! RUUUUUUUUN!!!!
Who knew a camera and a blog could come in so handy! Woo-hoo!
Enjoy the clean space and the weekend!
I just hope she's not like I was when her age. My teenage routine was: let things go till I couldn't stand it any longer then clean everything within an inch of its life only to let things go again for months on end.
Wait, that's my routine now, too!
This is very suspicious behavior. It seemed okay till you said it's not just her room.
Please tell us when you find out the deal. Until then, be very very careful...
She said she was bored! She's home all day since she graduated last week. I'm not going to ask too many questions... don't want to rock this boat!
Please...
May I borrow her for a couple of weeks?
PLEASE???
Maybe its because the fact that life will be changing for her soon and it makes her feel a little nervous about the not knowing what to expect...she just decided to do something special for you. They tend to do that sometimes show their real sensitive side kinda lets you know they still need ya!!! But if thats not it then yeah shes up to something!!!!!
Oh trust me, Janie. You don't want this kid in your house for very long, although she's very nice to people she's not related to.
She can't get money from me because I don't have any and she knows to go to her dad for that.
I came home from work early today to find a BOY in my house. I spoke to him. She never introduced me. He could be the reason the house got cleaned up.
She is the reason the house was a mess to begin with and I was NOT going to be the one to clean it. And she wasn't about to invite anyone in with it looking like it did.
Ha ha, Janie.
The Bitchin' Wife could use some help, too!
Enjoy this moment, Joanie!
