Riddle Me This! ** and I've added a few hints!

OK, it's been a while since I did a riddle.  Can you tell I save these for when I can't think of anything clever to say?  So, here is a riddle for y'all (I'm practicing for when I move South and become a Suthun Belle) .  Good luck!  If no one guesses correctly by the time I get home from work on Tuesday, I'll add hints.  I've never had to do that because y'all are really smart!

You'd think to hear about me,
That I never would be slow,
Or that something would be shattered,
But it generally isn't so.
Do nuts show up?  Yes they do!
Perhaps serially.
Some will even scramble to
Raise a toast to me!

What am I?

Clue #1 This riddle contains some very painful puns.
Clue #2 What is a word for something that isn't slow?
Clue #3 What is a word that means shatter?

as always, credit for this riddle goes to Tower of the Riddle Master

Wait... Rice Krispies don't have nuts. Eggs? No... they don't have nuts either. Some kind of breakfast business.

Wow this is a hard omelet?
I think of scrambed eggs or breakfast...but this one has me stumped! It was the nuts line that throws me off!
