DARK AND SILENT
Dark and silent he awaits.
His mouths are open wide.
He never hunts. He never walks.
He never tries to hide.
When food arrives, he doesn't blink;
His stomach glows like fire.
He then throws up what he just ate.
Now auburn in attire.

An oven?
I'm going with an oven too.
How about a furnace.
nope. not an oven or a furnace or a volcano. I'll post a clue tonight if no one gets it.
Hmmm....maybe a tree...because the leaves are auburn when they blow away?
The beginning sounds like a river, but I can't figre out how to make that fit with the second verse.
Beautiful words -whatever it is!
Happy Thanksgiving! I have no guess. I'm not very smart. ;-)
garbage disposal?
A chimney?
Chimney is a great guess... or fireplace?
not a chimney, or an oven or a fireplace or a garbage disposal. I forgot my book to post the clues! Blogging from my sister's house.
You will find this item in the kitchen.
Notice on the riddle, it says his MOUTHS are open wide. What has 2 openings?
I just am not good at these at all ... it's fun to watch everyone guess.
