Rest In Peace, Daria

I "met" Daria, who lived in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada  from Living With Cancer when I started blogging about John's Journey with Lymphoma.  I think we met on the Wellsphere Community on the Cancer site.  Daria was one helluva brave lady!  She battled cancer for about 11 years.  It began in her breast and eventually moved into her bones, liver and lungs.  But she never gave up.  She was still blogging on Tuesday about the treatments she was getting and hoping and praying it would buy her more time.

Daria's last post that she wrote herself, though brief was on Tuesday.  On Thursday, her husband Don started leaving updates on Daria's condition.  Today he let us all know that she passed peacefully in the wee hours of this morning.  Don was with her and was able to tell her good bye.

Rest well, Daria.  I was glad to have known you, even if it was just thorough our blogs.  You were and still are an inspiration for many people fighting the good fight.  We were all privileged to have known you.

To coin your tag, "Cancer Sucks" is right. RIP Daria.

Dear Daria,
I never met you until now, but I can see that you are a person who is loved. That is a great legacy; either to leave behind or to take with you. P'rhaps, I'll get to meet you in the hereafter. May all those who love you an' whom you love be comforted by the knowledge that we will be with you again. Rest in peace an' love.

Hugs,
~ Yaya

I followed Daria's blog, too. I am very sorry to hear of her passing.
I know that she encouraged many in their fight. My husband has advanced Colon Cancer, although slow growing... I know I will lose him some day. Its so hard.

I read a few of her posts. Seems like she was positive and hopeful up to the very end.
