thinking ahead

My mind is a blank on what to write for today, but I had some ideas for later in the week when I'm running back and forth from the hospital. So I've finished my Spin Cycle, which is scheduled to post on Tuesday and Travel Tip Thursday which posts, you guess it! Thursday! Wednesday I've planned to do a Weight Watchers post and hopefully, I'll be able to post some good numbers. One day I might even tell you my starting weight!

Anyway, I'm getting ready to go to John's for a day or so, so we can spend some quality time together before he goes in for the transplant (4 more days!!) I can't believe the time is here! It seemed like so far away and now it's just a few days away! It's rather scary, because we don't know what to expect. He's handled the chemo so well so far. I'm afraid of what he'll be like with the really high dose. I also don't know the time line for his stem cell infusion. I think the hardest part will be waiting on Wednesday for the phone call to tell us a bed is ready for him. Last time it took 2 days to get a bed!
One thing I know for sure is he won't have a roommate because he'll be in isolation.

Well, I better get my butt in gear! He's working but will be done by 11:30 pm.

Be good to yourself during this time. Its hard on the caretaker too (experience talking). I remember my son returned home after a year away and I asked him to not look for work right away but to help with the house and the dog - it was a real blessing in more ways than one to have him around.

Four days, wow!
I just got a chill writing that. As an nurse, I know what a big deal this all is.
I will keep you both in my thoughts.

...sending good vibes...

Posting your starting weight and a before photo may give you more incentive to do this weight loss. Afterall, you have a lot of readers watching for results!

On the sidebar - is that John? Is he getting a transplant? I obviously need to read back several posts. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I read back to your rants.... I get to look forward to unpaid parking tickets? Thank you for the warning.

Actually, Mo, I'll be home later at night and can post and read then. John will also have his computer with him and the hospital has free wifi. So I'll be able to get online at the hospital too.

Eileen, click on the label "Cancer Sucks" and you'll find all the posts regarding John's cancer.

Thanks EVERYONE for all the good thoughts and prayers and encouragement! With so much positive energy that is just flowing through this blog, I KNOW John will come out of this well again!

And yes, Wileen, that's John on the sidebar. He doesn't look like that now... he's bald! Maybe I should put his bald pic up there!
